Steve is responsible for setting studio strategy and vision, and working with his talented management staff to coach and mentor the small teams creating interactive musical experiences that are approachable and fun for everyone. He joined Harmonix in 2012. He managed the production team, and consulted on a variety of studio-wide product and organizational initiatives. As VP of Operations and Publishing, he ran the company’s day-to-day business operations, managed partner relationships, and introduced product management to the game development process. Prior to joining Harmonix, Steve held a variety of leadership, business development, and product management positions at Nokia, Palm, and IBM. He earned an BA in English from Harvard College and an MBA in marketing from Northeastern University.
As VP of Creative, Helen is responsible for ensuring the creative excellence of all Harmonix products. Helen started at Harmonix as a QA Tester in 2004, and has since worked on over 20 shipped titles, holding positions in production, design, and creative leadership. Outside of Harmonix, Helen plays guitar and obsesses over Stiff Little Fingers, the Stooges, and Led Zeppelin.
Alex co-founded Harmonix in 1995 with the mission of inventing new ways for non-musicians to experience the joy of making music. He was CEO until 2014, CCO through 2016, and now serves as executive chairman. Prior to co-founding Harmonix, Alex studied computer music at the MIT Media Laboratory and music composition at MIT.
DeVron joined Harmonix in 2001 as QA, and quickly developed a passion for composing music for people through video games. He went on to produce the hit game "Rock Band" and worked his way up through production from Associate Producer to Executive Producer over the years. Now, as VP of Development DeVron is responsible for all project development/production operations at the studio. He works directly with our talented team of producers on project planning, risk assessment & mitigation, and makes sure that the game development process at Harmonix is efficient and successful.
As COO, Chris is responsible for studio operations, finance, product management, and business development with our partners in the music industry. Before joining Harmonix in 2009, he spent six years as an advisor with the media & entertainment practice at OC&C Strategy Consultants, working on growth strategy and M&A transactions for corporate and private equity clients. Chris earned an MBA from MIT’s Sloan School and a BA in economics from the University of Pennsylvania. He originally worked at Harmonix as a producer for four years prior to attending graduate school. Outside the studio, he plays lead guitar for Boston-based rock bands Newfane and Honest Bob and the Factory-to-Dealer Incentives.
