Hey gang,
Happy post-Rock Band Rivals launch! Sweater Weather is upon us here in Boston; it’s time for us to zip up our jackets, grab those scarves, and pour the hot chocolate. While we’re turning up the heat, we’re here to talk about what you can expect in the Rock Band scene this November!
Now that you’re all clearing your first pass of the Rockudrama campaign and racking up that Crew XP in Rivals Mode, let’s talk DLC. You can expect new DLC tracks from the following artists this month:
…but that’s not all, folks! We might have a few surprises up our warm, flannel sleeves. Stay tuned…
This week, we’re bundling up with the “Hootie & The Blowfish Pack 01”, available in the Rock Band Music Store tomorrow!
“Hold My Hand” opens the new DLC pack. This tune is great for the full band, as there is a little something for everyone. Bassists have a constantly active bassline that will be a blast to hold down. Darius Rucker, vocalist of Hootie & The Blowfish, accomplishes a fantastic vocal performance in this track with plenty of variety and vocal runs. Singers will have plenty to practice with this one!
An iconic hit from Hootie & The Blowfish, “Only Wanna Be With You”, joins the Music Library this week. From an energetic beat on drums to a fun guitar solo, this track is sure to be a staple in your ‘90s setlist. The track also features an interesting and varied bassline, as well as catchy vocal harmony charts.
Another bass-centric tune, “Let Her Cry”, finishes up this week’s pack. Bassists will have the spotlight in this one as well, with an interesting countermelody sprinkled throughout the tune.
The “Hootie & The Blowfish Pack 01” will be available for $5.49. Each track can be purchased individually for $1.99.
We’ll be showing off this week’s newest DLC on our Twitch stream today (and in Halloween costumes!), starting at 5pm ET. Tune in here!
* Please note that this week’s DLC tracks will be available for purchase on Tuesday, November 1st.
Now that you’re settling in and learning the ins and outs of Rock Band Rivals we have one more surprise in store for you this week…a song from the brand new Bon Jovi album, This House Is Not For Sale!
To celebrate this week’s release of Bon Jovi’s thirteenth studio album, This House Is Not For Sale, Harmonix is adding one of our favorite songs from the record, “Born Again Tomorrow”, to the Rock Band Music Library.
With awesome guitar riffs and driving drums, Bon Jovi returns to their unique brand of Jersey-born rock ‘n’ roll. This song will be fun for players of all skill levels with challenging vocals and fret-work.
Bon Jovi’s music has always been an important part of Rock Band history (who remembers “Wanted Dead Or Alive” being featured in the very first Rock Band?). Once you’ve mastered “Born Again Tomorrow” be sure to pick up other hits like “Livin’ On A Prayer”, “Blaze Of Glory”, “It’s My Life” and “You Give Love A Bad Name” - all of which are available in the Rock Band Music Library.
This DLC track can be purchased for $1.99.
