Year of the Ox
Our second challenge week features songs released during Year of the Ox (2021, 2009, 1997, 1985, 1973, 1961).
Released in 2009 on their sophomore album Witness, blessthefall’s “What’s Left Of Me” is a track you’ll want to break out that hair straightener and skinny jeans for. A quintessential song of the late 2000s/early 2010s metalcore sound, “What’s Left Of Me” features hybrid clean and harsh vocals, chuggy verses, melodic choruses, and a blistering guitar lead.
From their album Death By Rock And Roll released in February, The Pretty Reckless’ “And So It Went” features a guest solo from legendary Rage Against The Machine and Audioslave guitarist, Tom Morello. “And So It Went” features The Pretty Reckless’ iconic driving guitar riffs, a dynamic vocal performance and hard-hitting drums. If you’re attempting this song on vocals or guitar, you’ve got your work cut out for you.
Check out The Pretty Reckless on deathbyrockandroll.com for merch, music videos and their newsletter and grab Death By Rock And Roll from your favorite music distributor.
blessthefall’s “What’s Left Of Me” and The Pretty Reckless’ “And So It Went”(feat. Tom Morello) will be available for $1.99.
